Just found this really nice article over on smashingmagazine
The article is from last year BUT the content is still valid. 
Typography is such a huge and vital part of design and cannot be overlooked. 
So for all you designers out there check out these free fonts, there’s a few gems in there!

Ident-a-font

this is one hell of a tool for anybody trying to identify a font you just can’t seem to find the name of…it’s run by My Fonts and is called What the Font. Give’s pretty reliable results and if that fails they run an awesome forum that is full of typophiles just ithcin to help!
